You know what I hate most about going on vacation? Coming home! We had an awesome time, but it just sucks having to go back to reality once you return. There is always so much to do- unpack, do laundry, grocery shop because your fridge is empty, sort through all the mail that hasn’t been picked up in days, clean the house and the list goes on and on. Add 2 children into the mix, who are over tired from the lack of naps they haven’t had most of the trip = frustration.
Finally, we are all back into our routine so I decided to sit down and sort though all of our pictures from our trip to Florida.
My in-laws have a condo in Naples. I have been many times before I was married, and every year since we have had kids. I know- we have been pretty lucky! My son who is 3 1/2 has been 3 times and this was my daughter’s 1st time who is 5 1/2 months. It’s great having a place to stay instead of paying for a hotel. Not only is it a money saver, it’s also much more cozier and of course cleaner. I swear every time we have stayed in a hotel a few days later my son is sick. No matter how much I sanitize everything. He also got his own room so we were able to put him down at his normal bedtime and still be able to stay up and watch TV. Usually to save money when we are staying in a hotel I get just 2 double beds and we end up going to sleep when he does. It sucks! We also have a lot of baby items that we are able to use as well such as a car seat, playpen, high chair, and toys which is so convenient!!
Even though it was a lot harder travelling with 2 kids this time around we really did have a great trip! My son had the time of his life. He really didn’t want to come home.
Here are some of the highlights of our trip!
Vanderbilt beach – It’s my favourite beach to go to when I am in Naples. It’s absolutely beautiful!
Going to the Naples Zoo was so much fun! I have never been to any other zoo but my own (Toronto Zoo) so I think I was more excited than my son. We got to feed the giraffes, ride a camel and take a boat around monkey island!!
We took a really nice 1 1/2 sightseeing boat cruise on Naples Bay. We saw all the beautiful waterfront homes of Port Royal and it was also narrated so we learned a lot of the history of Naples.
We went to The Golisano Childrens Museum. This was our 1st time here and Ryan loved it. They have hands-on exhibits where he could become a weather forecaster, a fisherman, they had a water play station. His favourite was the two-story banyan tree that he got to climb and wave to us from above.
We didn’t see any dolphins on our boat cruise, so my Father in law rented a Pontoon Boat for a 1/2 day to cruise Naples Bay. It was my son’s mission in Florida to see dolphins and I am so happy he did. We saw about 4 of them all together swimming all around the boat. He was so excited!
And lastly some pictures of us around the condo property. At the pool & Tiki Hut.
