Have you ever been to a café in Paris? If not that’s ok. Just check out Colette Grand Café and you’ll get an idea! This newly-opened French restaurant is at the base of the Thompson Hotel and it’s just stunning! Definitely my new favourite place! Under the Chase Hospitality Group umbrella, this upscale Parisian-inspired restaurant offers breakfast, lunch, dinner and a bakery counter with baked goods to go.
I first heard of Colette Grand Café at a recent event that I went to in the summer- SMUT Soirée 2014. It was part of their #TourDeColette marketing promotion where they had bicyclettes and a food truck touring the city giving out samples of their food leading up to their opening.
Colette Grand Café opened in July and it was on my list of places to try for 2 months. So finally, last weekend my husband and I stopped by for dessert and drinks and it was amazing! We will be back for dinner that’s for sure. The restaurant is divided into many different sections- main dinning area, library lounge, bar, bakery and 2 outdoor patios.
I just can’t stop thinking about the décor- its so pretty. Beautiful chandeliers, french doors, marble floors, the fabrics on the furniture. So elegant. The attention to detail is just incredible.
Their bakery serves everything from fresh juices, specialty coffees, teas, breads and pastries. They even have house-made granola, quiches, croissants and the BEST macaroons!!
I have to say the service was really amazing! I give them an 11 out of 10. We were seated right away, and our server came over shortly there after. He explained each dessert on the menu in great detail to help us make a decision. He recommended the Soufflé Aux Framboises ($14). It takes about 20-30 mins because it’s made on order, but it’s totally worth it! It was so good! We also got the Riz Au Lait ($10)
While we were waiting for our desserts we decided on 2 café lattes and some of their incredible maccoons! OMG they were so good. The bakery had already closed down for the evening, but our server was nice enough to grab some for us from the back. I love maccoons and they had so many varieties to choose from.
You really need to check out this restaurant, it’s truly unique. I recommend making a reservation in advance because they do book up. To make a reservation, visit their website HERE
If you are ever hosting an event, keep in mind they offer catering as well. Click HERE for more details.
I want to try their Sunday brunch next! It’s a buffet. Cost is $54 a person and $27 for kids ages 2-12.
