PAW Patrol Live! “The Great Pirate Adventure” in Toronto! (Giveaway)

One of my daughter’s favourite TV shows right now is PAW Patrol. She gets so excited when it comes on TV.  For Christmas she got the PAW Patrol My Size Lookout Tower. As soon as PAW Patrol comes on, she runs over to the toy and starts playing with it, while watching the show. She has PAW Patrol socks, shirts, stickers, colouring books, you name it. She is obsessed. So, when I saw PAW Patrol was coming to Toronto, I knew I had to take her.

From March 16-18, PAW Patrol Live! ” The Great Pirate Adventure” will be playing at the Sony Centre in Toronto. The new live stage show is action-packed, and music-filled, making it a night to remember. Watch the heroic pups as they embark on a pirate-themed adventure to uncover hidden treasure!

Early Christmas Gift to Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament + Giveaway!

Medieval Times Review on Livin Life with Style

I don’t know about you,  but I find my kids get a ton of toys at Christmas. Between us, the grandparents, and our aunts and uncles, it sometimes gets to be too much. That’s why every year we scale back on the toys, and take the kids out somewhere fun and exciting as an early Christmas gift. This year, we decided to surprise our son with VIP tickets to Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament. Since our daughter is only 3, we thought she wouldn’t enjoy it as much, so we plan on doing something else for her later this week.

Being that my son is in school now, it was actually really nice to get that one on one time with him, since it doesn’t happen often. My daughter gets a lot of time with us during the day, because she isn’t in school full-time yet.

This is my son’s second visit to Medieval Times. We took him a couple of years ago, and we remembered how much he loved it, and decided to take him again. We made sure we arrived nice and early, because there is lots to do before the show, and we didn’t want to be rushed. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted as “Lords” & “Ladies” and then headed over to a table to pick up our VIP passes, and crowns. We also had the option to get our picture taken with either the King, or the Queen before the show too.

Once we were done checking in, we got some drinks at the bar, and watched a pre-show that they had going on. People who were celebrating a birthday were “Knighted” in front of us all. They also have an area to view all the horses, so we went and checked that out as well. There is a ton of souvenirs to purchase, and of course our son wanted a “light up” sword so we got him one.  He is still playing with it everyday when he gets home from school- he loves it!

We got the Kings Royalty Package, which gave us front row seating, and we lucked out even more because we were also in the centre. Amazing seats! It also included our family photo in a beautiful keepsake frame. I highly recommend upgrading – it’s so worth it!!

Each section is divided by colour. The colour of your crown indicates which section you will sitting in, and which knight you will be cheering for. Since our crowns were yellow, and red, we sat in that section and cheered for that Knight. We also got flags to help us cheer!

For dinner, we had tomato soup and garlic bread to start, followed by our main course which was a 1/2 chicken, potato and corn. For dessert, we got a slice of pie. The food is soooo good! Plus, you get so much!! Everything is eaten without utensils, but I believe you can request a fork if you rather not use your hands.

Of course my son’s favourite part was the sword fighting. He loved how the mesh screen came down in front of us to protect us, and he loved seeing the sparks from the swords. Such a great show, and a perfect night spent together!

When the show was over, some of the knights came out for pictures. Even though our knight didn’t win, our son still wanted to get a picture with him at the end. And of course, he had to show off his new sword!

If you’re looking for a last minute Christmas Gift, getting tickets to a Medieval Times show is a great option. It’s such a fun event that the whole family would love.

Spending the day with Crush on Niagara Wine Tours + Giveaway!

Crush Wine Tours- Niagara Falls

A few weeks ago my husband & I spent the weekend in Niagara-on-the-lake for our 9th wedding anniversary. We love going to Niagara-on-lake, it’s so beautiful, and we love visiting all the wineries when we’re there.

For our first day, we decided to book a wine tour with Crush on Niagara Wine Tours. They offered complementary pick up from our hotel which was great. They gave us a time we needed to be outside, and the driver arrived right on time to pick us up. There were 3 other couples with us in the van, and we got along great with them throughout the day.

Crush Wine Tours offers many tours, but we choose the Breaking Bread & Building Brix Tour. This tour was a full day- 10:15am- 4:30pm. We got to visit 6 wineries, had a behind the scenes tour at one of the wineries, lunch, and we got to blend, and bottle our own wine to take home!

Our first stop was at Jackson Triggs Niagara Estate at 10:30am. We got a 45 min behind the scenes tour on the whole process on how they make their wine. During the tour, at each station we got to taste different wines, and ask any questions we had. Most wineries don’t allow you to just walk in their vineyard, unless it was part of a tour you are on.  At Jackson Triggs Niagara Estate, they had a small vineyard at the front of their building where you could. Our driver told us they are the only winery where you could go into their vineyard, and taste of some grapes without having to take a tour, so that was kind of neat.

Before leaving, we got to go into the tasting room to taste some more wine, and were also given a $5 card to use on any bottle of wine we choose to buy.

Next we went to Inniskillin Wines, which is a sister company of Jackson Triggs. As soon as we arrived, we had a table outside waiting for us for lunch. We couldn’t of had a better day for our tour- it was so gorgeous outside. We got to choose from a pulled pork sandwich, or a caprese  sandwich with salad for lunch, and a glass of wine (white or red). For dessert, we got a brownie ice cream sandwich paired with some ice wine.

At 1:30pm, we went to Between The Lines, which is Niagara’s smallest winery. The winery is owned by 2 brothers. We got our own private tasting room where we got to taste 4 different kinds of wine, and also learn a bit more about the winery.

From there, we went to Riverview Estate Winery at 2:30pm. We got another private wine tasting, which included a variety of cheeses that we could pair each wine with.

Around 3:30 we stopped at Caroline Cellars. I love this winery! They have some of my favourite wines here! Not only did we get to taste 4 different kinds of wine, but we also got to blend and bottle our own!! It was soooo much fun, and was definitely the top reason why I decided to go with this particular tour.

Finally our last stop was Konzelmann Estate Winery at 4:30pm. This winery has a gorgeous view of not only lake Ontario, but of the Toronto skyline. We had a great tasting here as well, and some time to walk around and enjoy the beautiful view.

My visit to Ste. Anne’s Spa + Win a Spa Day Getaway for 2!

Ste. Anne's

A couple of weeks ago, my friend and I headed to Ste. Anne’s Spa for a Day Spa Getaway! We were so excited for a day of pampering and relaxation, or relaxing kid-free! It’s always nice to have some girl time once in a while, and what better way to do that than at a spa!

Ste. Anne’s Spa is a little gem located just 1.5 hours outside of Toronto. Once we arrived, we were just in awe with how gorgeous the property was. It’s situated on over 400 acres, with views of Lake Ontario, and rolling hills. It felt like we were miles away from everything, nestled in an old little town in the Country Side. It was so private, quiet, and scenic.

Our Day Spa Getaway included so much for the price. We got a 3-course lunch, afternoon tea, $120 spa & wellness allowance, use of all the facilities, and use of a signature Ste. Anne’s robe for the day.  When booking our services, they were so accommodating to our needs. They arranged our services to be at the same times, so we weren’t  waiting for each other throughout out the day. We also asked for specific times to have our lunch, and afternoon tea, and they made that happen for us as well. They even called a couple of days before to confirm everything, and asked if we had any questions!

Ste. Anne's Spa

As soon as we arrived, we were greeted by the friendly staff, and given a cute bag that included our itinerary for the day, and a robe. Check- in is 8:30am, so make sure you arrive on time. You have a little bit of paperwork to fill out, and they also take you on a tour of the facility. They show you where to wait for your upcoming services, where all the facilities are located, where the dinning room is, where the change rooms are located, and how to use the lockers to store your personal belongings.

We couldn’t of had a more perfect day! There wasn’t a cloud in the sky, all sunshine. It was probably one of the hottest days of the summer! So, the first thing we did before we got into our robes, and before it got any hotter, was go for a hike. They had 3 hiking trails to choose from, which consisted of 3 different distances. It was such a nice hike, so quiet, and beautiful scenery. Once we finished our hike, we got our bathing suits on, and went to the pool to cool off!

The outdoor pool was amazing! It was huge! It was heated as well. We swam in the pool for a bit, and then laid and relaxed on their comfy lounge chairs. It was so peaceful! The views were gorgeous all around. Laying by the pool we were looking at the gorgeous spa, if we turned around, behind us was nothing but beautiful rolling hills.

Here is the room where we waited for our spa services. We made sure we were here 10 mins before our appointments. They have lemon and lime water to sip on, granola, and mini biscotti’s to eat while we waited for our names to be called. The 2 services I got were the Coconut Breeze, and the Swedish Massage. They were both amazing, and I would definitely get them again!

In between our spa services, we definitely loved using the Eucalyptus Steam room, and the Fieldstone Grotto. The grotto area had a hot tub, a plunge pool, and a lap pool.

I just couldn’t get over how stunning the grounds were! Gorgeous flowers everywhere, a beautiful fountain, gazebos, hammocks, and Muskoka chairs everywhere to sit and relax, and enjoy the views of the rolling hills.

The food was fantastic! Lunch consisted of a 3 course meal. You had a ton of options to choose from, and it also included unlimited juice drinks.

Afternoon tea was fabulous! We each got an assortment of mini sandwiches, fruit, and pastries. It was so good!

Once  our Spa Day was complete, we decided to stay for dinner before heading home. It wasn’t included in our Day Spa Package, but we really didn’t want to leave, lol! We loved staying in our robes all day long, being pampered, and relaxing.

Our dinner consisted of a 3-course meal as well. For all of our meals, the presentation was on point!! Everything was so fresh and cooked perfectly!

If you haven’t been to Ste. Anne’s Spa, I definitely recommend visiting in the near future. They even offer overnight packages as well, if you wanted to stay for a couple of days. It’s perfect for a girls days, or a romantic getaway!
